A blanket isn’t just a blanket. It’s knitted proof someone cares and can spark life-changing conversations.
Innocean Australia × Youth Off The Streets
Founded by Father Chris Riley in 1991 with a single food van, YOTS is now a leader in “wraparound” support for at-risk youth. They provide everything from crisis housing and mental health care to independent high schools for 12–24-year-olds who’ve fallen through the cracks.
Public perception of homeless or at-risk youth is often colored by stigma or the feeling that the problem is “too big to fix.” We needed to shift the narrative from “too hard” to “essential,” reframing early intervention as a basic human right.
We are using true stories to turn everyday objects—a cup of tea, a blanket, a pizza—into symbols of transformation. These items represent the first step toward safety and a new trajectory.
It’s the moment everything changes for a young person facing homelessness.

It was a conversation with a caseworker that helped a young person get the support they need.

A blanket isn’t just a blanket. It’s knitted proof someone cares and can spark life-changing conversations.
They say a cup of tea can change everything. We say, it’s true. It’s the conversation starter that can help an at-risk teen open up.
